4-Way Toggle Switches
4-Way Toggle Switch Wiring
The diagrams below show the conventional wiring for 4-way toggle switches using 3 switches (two 3-way and one 4-way). Unfortunately, not all 3-way switches are wired the conventional way. See 3-Way Switch Variation for another way 3-way switches may be wired.
Line connects to the left 3-way switch common terminal. The 2 traveler terminals connect to a pair of traveler terminals on the 4-way switch. The other pair of terminals on the 4-way switch connect to the 3-way switch on the right.
If you have any problems with these switches, it may be best to call an electrician.
4-way toggle switches have 2 pairs of traveler terminals. However, the location of the terminals is different from 3-way decora switches. Find 4-Way Toggle Switches
